What is GoshLinks?

Learn what GoshLinks does, how short links work, and where to begin after installing the plugin.

What is GoshLinks?

GoshLinks is a WordPress plugin for creating and managing short links from inside your WordPress admin area. (GoshLinks is also short for Go Short Links.)

Instead of sharing long destination URLs, you create short links using your own domain. For example, if your base path is go and your slug is sale, your short link could look like:

https://example.com/go/sale

When someone visits that short link, GoshLinks redirects them to the Target URL you selected.

What You Can Use It For

  • Sharing cleaner links in emails, videos, PDFs, and social media posts.
  • Managing campaign links without editing every place the link was shared.
  • Tracking total clicks on short links.
  • Keeping link notes for your own admin team.
  • Finding, editing, disabling, or deleting links from one WordPress dashboard.

How GoshLinks Works

  1. You choose a Base Path, such as go.
  2. You create a link with a unique Slug, such as summer-sale.
  3. You enter a Target URL, which is where visitors should be sent.
  4. GoshLinks creates a short URL using your domain and redirects visitors to the Target URL.

Free and Pro

The free plugin covers the core link management workflow. Pro adds more advanced tools such as scheduling, expiry controls, bulk editing, import/export, YOURLS import, advanced stats, and Help Notes.

Where To Start

After installing GoshLinks, start by checking your Settings page. Confirm your Base Path, default redirect type, tracking options, and default fallback pages. Then create your first short link from the All Links page.
