Views or Stats Are Not Updating

If Views or stats are not changing, check the tracking settings and make sure the short link is actually being handled by GoshLinks.

If Views or stats are not changing, check the tracking settings and make sure the short link is actually being handled by GoshLinks.

The Views column includes total activity for the link, including normal link clicks and QR scans.

Check Total Tracking

  1. Go to GoshLinks > Settings > Setup.
  2. Make sure Track total click counts is enabled.
  3. Save settings if you make a change.

This setting controls whether the main total count can increase.

Check Detailed Tracking for Stats

If the total Views count updates but detailed stats are missing, make sure Track detailed click log for stats is also enabled.

Detailed tracking is needed for stats views such as referrers, countries, link clicks, and QR scans.

Test the Public Short URL

Views are counted when the short URL is visited and GoshLinks handles the redirect.

Copy the Short URL from the All Links page and open it in a private or incognito browser window.

If the short URL works but Views do not update, continue checking the items below.

Test QR Scan Tracking

QR scans are tracked when the QR code points to the GoshLinks short URL with the QR tracking marker.

If QR scans are not appearing, test the short URL directly and then test the QR code.

If normal clicks track but QR scans do not, regenerate the QR code so it uses the current QR tracking URL.

Check Link Status

If the link is inactive, scheduled, expired, or blocked by licence state, it may not reach the normal Target URL flow.

Even then, GoshLinks still needs to handle the short URL request before it can record activity.

Check Whether Tracking Was Previously Disabled

If tracking was disabled for a period of time, visits during that period were not recorded.

Turning tracking back on does not recreate past activity.

Check Caching or Redirect Layers

Server caching, CDN redirects, security tools, or server-level redirects can sometimes handle a request before WordPress sees it.

If that happens, GoshLinks cannot record the visit.

Check for Base Path Conflicts

Make sure no other tool is using the same Base Path.

For example, if an existing YOURLS install still handles /go/ and GoshLinks is also set to /go/, YOURLS may catch the request before GoshLinks can record the click or QR scan.

Change the GoshLinks Base Path or remove the conflicting route, then test again.
