An Expired Link Is No Longer Working

Understand why expired links stop redirecting and how to update or remove expiry settings.

An Expired Link Is No Longer Working

Expired links are controlled by the Pro Expiry Date and Expiry Action fields.

Check the Expiry Date

Edit the link and open Advanced Options. If the Expiry Date is in the past, the link has expired.

GoshLinks treats the link as expired after the end of the selected date.

Check the Expiry Action

  • Deactivate Link - The link remains in your list but visitors are sent to the deactivated destination.
  • Delete Link - The link is permanently removed when it expires.

If the Link Was Deactivated

You can edit the link, adjust or remove the Expiry Date, and make sure Status is active.

If the Link Was Deleted

The deleted slug no longer exists in GoshLinks. Visitors are sent to the Default Non Existent / Deleted Link Redirect Page, or the site home page if that setting is empty.

If you need the link again, create a new link with that slug if it is available.

Check the Expired Filter

On the All Links page, use the Expired filter to find links with an Expiry Date in the past.

How To Fix It

  • Remove the Expiry Date if the link should not expire.
  • Set a later Expiry Date if the campaign has been extended.
  • Change the Deactivated URL if visitors should be sent somewhere else after expiry.
  • Use Deactivate Link instead of Delete Link if you want to keep the link record after expiry.
