Deleting QR Codes

Deleting a QR code removes the generated QR image file for a link.

Deleting a QR code removes the generated QR image file for a link.

It does not delete the short link itself, and it does not delete the link's stats.

When to Delete a QR Code

You may want to delete a QR code when:

  • You no longer need a QR code for that link.
  • You are cleaning up unused QR files.
  • You want to stop offering a downloadable QR code for a specific link.
  • You plan to regenerate the QR code later with different settings.

Deleting a QR code does not stop the short link from working. It only removes the generated QR image file.

Delete One QR Code

  1. In WordPress admin, go to GoshLinks > All Links.
  2. Find the link you want.
  3. Click the Edit icon.
  4. Scroll to the QR Code panel.
  5. Use the QR code controls to remove the QR code if available.

After the QR code is removed, the link can continue working as normal.

If QR code creation is still enabled, you can generate or regenerate a QR code again later.

Delete QR Codes in Bulk

Pro users can remove QR codes in batches from the Bulk Editing page.

  1. In WordPress admin, go to GoshLinks > Bulk Editing.
  2. Choose selected links, filtered links, or all links.
  3. Click QR Codes.
  4. Choose Remove QR Codes.
  5. Choose whether to apply the action to selected links, filtered links, or all links.
  6. Click the action button.
  7. Click again to confirm.

Remove QR Codes requires a second confirmation click because it deletes generated QR image files.

Which QR Codes Are Removed?

Bulk removal only removes generated GoshLinks QR code files for the links included in the action.

It does not delete:

  • The short links.
  • The target URLs.
  • Click or scan stats.
  • Uploaded logo images from the WordPress Media Library.
  • Default QR branding settings.
  • Per-link QR customisation settings.

After Deleting QR Codes

If a link no longer has a QR code, the All Links page QR action will show that no QR code exists yet.

If QR code creation is allowed, you can generate a new QR code again from the QR popover or from the Edit Link page.

Tip

If you only want QR codes to use updated branding, use Regenerate QR Codes instead of deleting them. Use deletion when you genuinely want to remove the generated QR image files.
