An Expired Link Is No Longer Working

Expired links are controlled by the Pro End Date & Time and Expiry Action fields.

Expired links are controlled by the Pro End Date & Time and Expiry Action fields.

Check the Expiry Date

Edit the link and open Advanced Options. If the End Date & Time is in the past, the link has reached its end state.

If a date is saved without a time, GoshLinks uses 23:59 as the end time.

Check the Expiry Action

  • Leave Activated - The link stays active. If an After End URL is set, visitors are sent there; otherwise they continue to the Target URL.
  • Deactivate Link - The link remains in your list but visitors are sent to the deactivated destination after the end time.
  • Delete Link - The link is permanently removed after the end time.

Deactivate Link and Delete Link are applied when someone visits the short URL after the end time. If nobody has visited it yet, the link may still appear in the list until the next visit triggers the action.

If the Link Was Deactivated

You can edit the link, adjust or remove the End Date & Time, and make sure Status is active.

If the Link Was Deleted

The deleted slug no longer exists in GoshLinks. Visitors are sent to the Default Non Existent / Deleted Link Redirect Page, or the site home page if that setting is empty.

If you need the link again, create a new link with that slug if it is available.

Check the Expired Filter

On the All Links page, use the Expired filter to find links with an End Date & Time in the past.

How To Fix It

  • Remove the End Date if the link should not expire.
  • Set a later End Date & Time if the campaign has been extended.
  • Use Leave Activated and set an After End URL if the short link should keep working after the campaign ends.
  • Change the Deactivated URL if visitors should be sent somewhere else after expiry.
  • Use Deactivate Link instead of Delete Link if you want to keep the link record after expiry.
