A Scheduled Link Is Not Active Yet

Scheduled links are controlled by the Pro Start Date & Time field.

Scheduled links are controlled by the Pro Start Date & Time field.

How Scheduled Links Work

If a link has a Start Date & Time in the future, it will not send visitors to the Target URL until that time arrives. If a date is saved without a time, GoshLinks uses 00:00 as the start time.

Before the Start Date, visitors are sent to the Before Start URL when one is set. Otherwise they are sent to the link's custom Deactivated URL, the global Default Deactivated Redirect Page, or the site home page.

Check the Start Date

  1. Edit the link.
  2. Open Advanced Options.
  3. Check the Start Date & Time.
  4. Check the Before Start URL if visitors should see a waiting page.

If the date is in the future, the link is working as scheduled.

Check the Link Status

The link must still be active. If the Status is manually switched off, the link will remain inactive even after the Start Date.

Check the End Date

If the End Date & Time has already passed, the link may be expired before it has a chance to run.

Check the Site Timezone

GoshLinks uses the WordPress site time when evaluating dates. Check the WordPress timezone in Settings > General if a link appears to start on the wrong day.

How To Make the Link Active Now

  • Remove the Start Date, or set it to today or an earlier date.
  • Make sure Status is active.
  • Make sure the link is not already expired.
  • Save the link and test the short URL again.
