A Link Redirects to the Deactivated Page

If a link redirects to the deactivated page, GoshLinks has decided that the link should not currently send visitors to its Target URL.

If a link redirects to the deactivated page, GoshLinks has decided that the link should not currently send visitors to its Target URL.

Check Whether the Link Is Active

On the All Links page, make sure the Status switch is on.

If the link is manually deactivated, visitors are sent to the deactivated destination.

Check Pro Start Date

If the link has a future Start Date & Time, it is scheduled. Before that time, visitors are sent to the Before Start URL if one is set. Otherwise they are sent to the deactivated destination.

Check Pro End Date

If the link is past its End Date & Time and the Expiry Action is Deactivate Link, the link is switched off when someone visits it after the end time.

Check the Deactivated URL

In Pro, a link can have its own Custom Deactivated URL. If set, visitors are sent there when the link is inactive. Scheduled links can also use a separate Before Start URL.

Check the Global Default Page

If no per-link Deactivated URL is set, visitors are sent to the Default Deactivated Redirect Page in Settings > Default Pages.

If that setting is empty, visitors are sent to the site home page.

How To Fix It

  • Turn the Status switch on.
  • Remove or adjust the Start Date & Time if the link should work now.
  • Remove or adjust the End Date & Time if the link should still be running.
  • Change the Expiry Action if the current behavior is not what you want.
  • Update the Before Start URL, Custom Deactivated URL, or Default Deactivated Redirect Page if visitors are going to the wrong fallback destination.
